Launching the festival, we welcome to Hastings for the first time The Sixteen ‘The Voices of Classic FM’. The choir is one of the greatest ensembles performing across the globe today and receives worldwide acclaim. Conducted by their Founder, Harry Christophers, their sell-out concerts are renowned for their distinctive sound, virtuosity and musicianship. The Sixteen’s ever-popular Queen of Heaven programme focusses on three composers’ unique devotion to the church. A new version of Allegri’s renowned Miserere is paired with James MacMillan’s own setting of the text and pieces by ‘The Prince of Polyphony’ Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.
